QR2GO is a purpose-built European QR code platform designed and developed by BitBau — a digital agency from Osnabrück, Niedersachsen — for businesses that refuse to compromise on data privacy. Unlike mainstream generators that funnel user data through US-based servers, QR2GO keeps every byte of information within the European Union, hosted on infrastructure in Frankfurt, Germany. The platform supports six essential QR code types — URL, plain text, phone number, email, WiFi credentials and vCard contacts — covering the full spectrum of marketing, logistics and networking use cases.

The branding engine transforms generic black-and-white codes into distinctive brand assets. Users upload their logo, select corporate foreground and background colours, fine-tune error correction levels, and preview the result in real time. High-definition exports are available in three formats — PNG for web and social media, SVG for infinitely scalable print assets, and PDF for production-ready documents complete with bleed marks.

What truly sets QR2GO apart is its privacy-first analytics layer. Powered by a self-hosted Umami instance, the scan dashboard reveals geographic distribution, device breakdowns, browser usage and temporal trends — all without a single third-party cookie. European businesses can finally run data-driven QR campaigns with full confidence in their GDPR compliance, across all eight supported languages.

QR2GO is built and maintained by BitBau, a local web agency based in Osnabrück. A comprehensive digital presence delivered by BitBau for Praxis am Salzmarkt, a well-established group practice in the heart of Osnabrück's historic Altstadt specialising in general medicine and internal medicine. The website serves a highly diverse patient population through three fully localised language versions — German, Russian and English — ensuring that every patient in Osnabrück and the surrounding region can access essential healthcare information in their preferred language.

The project encompassed a complete digital transformation: from a dated static HTML page to a modern, performance-optimised Next.js application with professional photography, an eight-image homepage gallery, a medical blog, and comprehensive legal compliance pages. A dedicated video hero section introduces the practice with warmth and professionalism, while a detailed team section presents all twelve staff members with individual portraits and biographical information.

Every design decision was guided by two principles — building patient trust before the first visit, and reducing the volume of routine information calls to the reception desk. The result is a website that not only ranks in the top five for local medical search terms in Osnabrück, but also demonstrably reduced administrative phone calls by thirty percent within its first quarter of operation. Delivering this project for a medical practice in the heart of Osnabrück is representative of BitBau's day-to-day work. tagblick . is BitBau's own news product: a multilingual platform that reads the public news channels of European newsrooms and turns them into an independent, traceable overview of the day. Deliberately, tagblick is not a reporting newsroom — there are no reporters, no photographers and no first-hand reporting from the scene. The product solves a different problem: bringing scattered coverage together, checking it against itself, and making it accessible across seven language editions.

A report follows a fixed chain: read the feeds, normalise the items, cluster reports that describe the same event, corroborate coverage across several independent newsrooms, write a short report of our own from that material with AI assistance, check it automatically, and only then publish it across the editions. What rests on a single source is not written up. What fails a check does not appear — withholding is the design's normal outcome, not an exception.

Technically the system consists of an ingestion worker with hardened fetching and conditional requests, a PostgreSQL data architecture on Drizzle ORM in which central editorial and legal rules live as CHECK constraints, a controlled translation pipeline, deterministic publication gates, multilingual SEO surfaces with a sitemap index and hreflang, targeted cache invalidation rather than plain expiry times, and a self-operated production environment with backups, watchdogs and health checks.

For BitBau, tagblick is the proof that we do not only build websites but can design, operate and keep a data-intensive digital product stable over time: continuous data intake, language processing, editorial rules, a legal framework, search visibility and server operations in one system.
